Vote Charles Kennedy for Rector

21 Jan 2008 by president

Elections for a new Rector will be held on 26-7 February 2008!

The Rector of the University of Glasgow is elected by the matriculated students of the University and the main role of the Rector is to represent the University’s students.

Glasgow is lucky to be one of only five universities to have a Rector. The Rector has a number of key duties representing students. He/She is expected to attend meetings of Court, the governing body of the University, to work closely with the SRC, and to bring student concerns to the attention of the University’s managers.

So, Who do you think would make the best rector at Glasgow?

Daft Friday 2007!

11 Jan 2008 by heather

So between Palladium, Scott Mills, tattoo artists, the oxygen bar and the LA Bartenders Fire Show, the board at GUU definately enjoyed themselves this year at Daft Friday.

It was also the first year in history of DF that the Fire Alarm didn't go off and ruin the night, so a major thanks to everyone for keeping their sticky fingers to themselves this year. The Board of Management now take this very seriously but let's leave that for another blog post!

So anyway, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. Let us know your best bits below and keep an eye out on our website www.guu.co.uk for the best pics competition.
